When Rolls Royce launched The Rolls Royce Dawn in 2015, it quickly became the don of luxury convertibles. With its sleek design and gorgeous interior, it caught the attention of passersby whenever it was driven through the streets.
But what made this beautiful and classy car so captivating? What made it stand out and grab the attention of onlookers? And despite the tech limits to this car, how did it become so popular when it was launched?
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and learn more about the Dawn.
It’s Not A Car For An Everyday Drive
Although the Dawn is known for its sturdy exterior, beautiful interior, and for being built using the latest technology, it’s not a car for everyday drives. This is because it’s a luxury car that is known for its aesthetics.
However, you can take it around town for sightseeing and exploring. Since the City of Lights is known for its gorgeous attractions, beaches, and restaurants, the car is perfect for when you want to go on a mini-adventure.
You can take it around Hollywood Boulevard and the famous shopping districts of L.A.
One of the things about the Dawn that stands out is that despite its technology being limited, everything is so easy to understand! You’ll get a grasp of everything within a couple of minutes.
We have to salute Rolls Royce for this. Unlike other luxury cars that come equipped with a dozen features, Rolls Royce has decided to keep the Dawn’s interface simple.
It comes equipped with a 10.25-inch, 1280 x 720 non-touch screen center console display, as well as a small Driver’s Panel information (DPI.) Through the DPI, you can keep track of the speed, phone calls, and directions.
The only downside is that it doesn’t support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you’re not a fan of music apps or any other apps, this won’t be a problem. However, you can connect your phone through Bluetooth and play music, and take calls.
It’s Not Like The Wraith
Despite being compared to the Wraith, the Dawn is very different. According to the manufacturer, the Dawn’s panels and interior are 80 percent unique. While it looks similar to the Wraith, we guarantee it’s not.
The Dawn has a 6.6L Twin Turbocharged V12 petrol engine, whereas, the Wraith has a V12 petrol engine. The Dawn also has an electric power steering while the Wraith has a hydraulic power steering.
